I Will Love You

Lyrics

'til my body is dust
'til my soul is no more
I will love you, love you
'til the sun starts to cry
And the moon turns to rust
I will love you, love you

Chorus:
But I need to know - will you stay for all
Time...forever and a day
Then I'll give my heart 'til the end of all
Time...forever and a day

Chorus

'til the storms fill my eyes
And we touch the last time
I will love you, love you...

Hi Kathy and Ron. Thank you for taking the time to talk to us. Why don’t we start with a little background? What have you been doing with yourselves, before you decided to become musicians?

KATHY:  I decided to be a singer when I was five years old.  Before that, I mostly ran around my neighborhood naked, trying to get cookies and sugary beverages from everyone.

RON: I started playing the piano at three years, so I guess I mostly drooled a lot and watched cartoons!

How did you two meet?

KATHY: We were introduced by a guy I was dating, who also happened to be named “Ron”…He did not treat me very well on a boyfriend level, but he did do me the kindness of introducing me to Ron Wasserman, with whom he was collaborating on a pop project at the time…For future reference, we refer to the ex-boyfriend as “Bad Ron” and Wasserman as “Good Ron”.

RON: Yeah, my old band mate, “Bad Ron”, told me that I should take a listen to “this girl [he] was sleeping with”. I didn’t take it too seriously at first, but when Kathy and I met, and I heard That Voice, I knew there was something really special about her.

You know, with a name like Ron Wasserman you could easily pass for an Israeli…

RON: The interesting thing is that I’m adopted, and my bio heritage is pretty much German. My adoptive parents are Russian-Jewish. It always makes for an interesting introduction when people meet my family!

I have seen Sara McLaghlan mentioned, more than once, under “similar artists”, in web pages that deal with your music. My personal and non-representative survey indeed indicates that Fisher fans also like to listen to Sara McLaghlan – but the sound and styles are obviously different. What do you think is the reason for this almost automatic comparison?

KATHY: Our ranges are very similar, we both have an airy quality, and we both put great importance on the lyrical content of the songs. And we’re both very nice and enjoy a good piece of cheesecake every now and then.

RON: I hear it in the range, too, but I think Kathy is much more dynamic with her voice. Her ability to go from a whisper to a moan to a howl is very interesting to write for, although sometimes incredibly challenging to record (but worth it!).
